EMERGENCY RESPONSE PLANNING

1. STAY INFORMED 
  • Follow updates from the the White House, the Governor and the Kent County Health Department
  • Monitor COVID-19 risk and impact in your area
2. GET ORGANIZED
  • Organize your prayer, scripture reflection and service in light of COVID-19
  • Pivot ministry activities to address the needs raised by COVID-19
3. CREATE A HEALTH TEAM
  • Assemble members who have a health background to help address medical-related concerns
  • Assign roles and responsibilities (ie Health Team Coordinator)
4. DEVELOP A COMMUNICATION STRATEGY
  • Develop messaging for different groups in your congregations
  • Leverage your existing communication platforms to reach people (ie texting, email, phone trees, and videos)
  • Reach out to vulnerable groups
5. COLLABORATE WITH OTHERS
  • Work with other congregations and associations to avoid duplication of services
  • Partner with public health, emergency response, and nonprofits
6. ADAPT AS NEEDED
  • ​Modify actions based on changing conditions
  • Adapt ministry practices to meet the changing needs of the community and your members
