EMERGENCY RESPONSE PLANNING
1. STAY INFORMED
- Follow updates from the the White House, the Governor and the Kent County Health Department
- Monitor COVID-19 risk and impact in your area
- Organize your prayer, scripture reflection and service in light of COVID-19
- Pivot ministry activities to address the needs raised by COVID-19
- Assemble members who have a health background to help address medical-related concerns
- Assign roles and responsibilities (ie Health Team Coordinator)
- Develop messaging for different groups in your congregations
- Leverage your existing communication platforms to reach people (ie texting, email, phone trees, and videos)
- Reach out to vulnerable groups
- Work with other congregations and associations to avoid duplication of services
- Partner with public health, emergency response, and nonprofits
- Modify actions based on changing conditions
- Adapt ministry practices to meet the changing needs of the community and your members
